Sofi attended the Institut des Beaux-Arts in Marseille, where she studied calligraphy. She has travelled extensively, meeting and sharing with artists from all over the world. She spent seven years in London working and studying with different artists. Sofi’s encounters with foreign artists, exposure to their methods and motivations, changed her vision of drawing and painting and indeed of art as a whole. Back in France, she decided to work in her own space. For 25 years, she collaborated with her life partner, the artist and musician Francis Lozet. Together they are known as \u2018Alias et Alias\u2019. In addition to Sofi’s narrative paintings, she and Francis created an architectural decoration mainly of mosaics and painted furniture. After the death of her partner in 2016, she returned to the art scene as a solo artist. Her work is pictorial.
