THEATRE OF THE UNEXPECTED SEASON 2025/2026

Ten years ago, in the heart of the Aspres region, a small jewel box of culture and conviviality was created. It's called the Théâtre de l'Inattendu, in Villemolaque. A venue for rehearsals, creations and performances, it hosts a variety of workshops throughout the week to help you learn or improve your theatrical skills.

Whether you're a child, teenager, adult or senior citizen, there's sure to be a workshop to suit you. All classes are taught by Eric PUCHE.

Courses open to all are also offered throughout the year, on specific themes.

A performance space for two years now, we offer an annual programme every year.

If you visit the website, you can also check out the latest shows or the archives, which I'm sure will take you back to fond memories.

If you would like us to provide a professional venue for your events, meetings or residencies, please contact us.

Entre Spleen et blues by the Théâtre de l'Inattendu

Chris the Cat and Eric Puche share this tribute to the poet of Les Fleurs du mal.
Chris is a harmonica player, guitarist, singer, songwriter and lover of blues mixed with rock and country, which he has performed in hundreds of concerts, as part of the Jolly Jumpers, later with the Mannish Boys, and in magical jam sessions with Amos Garrett, Tino Gonzalez, Michael Jones, Berkeley Wright...
Entre Splenn et Blues' is the meeting of this bluesman and Charles Baudelaire, author of the famous collection Les Fleurs du Mal, in a collection of texts set to music, performed and accompanied by his guitar and his hoarmonicas, to the rhythms of various currents of blues, jazz, rock and folk.
Actor and director, Eric embodies this admirable poet, a pathetic lover, a tormented man, between fever and heartbreak, 'bitter and delicious', reflective and dreamy, from the 'evening twilight', in search of 'the new' and an existence in 'calm and painful voluptuousness', a true alchemist between spleen and ideal, with his 'pure mirrors that make all ches more beautiful.

Monsieur Malaussène by Illusoire Théâtre

Father, when you've been through what I went through before I was born, you'll be able to open it. Enclose Malaussène!
Benjamin Malaussène, scapegoat for Editions du Tatilon, brother of a large family and leader of a tribe, is now faced with the doubts and questions associated with parenthood... his own! Here he launches into an explanation of life, death, Belleville, family and love, with only this 'little Mr Malaussène' in his little opaline cabin to talk to. The only thing I'll ever envy you: nine months in Julie's belly' - until the tragedy. But the tragedy of endings is that even the worst have a sequel!

Amesagrammes by the Théâtre de l'inattendu

...they say you lose 10 grams the second you die...'
Valentin is the last sailor on a stranded old boat. Four wandering elderly characters embark with him and his son on a last cruise, a lost ball, a dance with life... Because it's life we're talking about here, with profound humanity, well-balanced humour and a dreamlike quality that grips us from the very first moments.
A story, perhaps even a tale, that plunges us into the most intimate and revealing aspect of humanity: the twilight of life. From accumulated experience to balance sheets, are we the guarantors? Performed and directed by Jean-Luc Voegele and Eric Puche, the journey, both tender and funny, reveals the many facets of these two whimsical characters.
Life's trials and tribulations transformed into an epic cruise. Everyone meets up with a close relative, friend or acquaintance. We're carried away by a simple installation where the bodies speak to us and the voices guide our souls.
As well as the text, which is inventive, full of finesse and intelligence, the two actors, Eric Puche and Jean-Luc Voegèle, give a real acting performance, playing a number of characters with astonishing veracity. They are by turns cynical, philosophical, buffoonish, serious, light-hearted and burlesque. From laughter to emotion, a show brimming with humanity.
