Château de Castelnou opens its doors on 7 February 2026 and inaugurates its new cultural season with the exhibition :
"Dreams of Nature" by Annie Noël
An invitation to enter a world where the forest, light and memory weave a sensitive dialogue with the living.
"It was in contact with the Black Forest that I built my universe. The forest is my refuge. The verticality of its trees and the infinite nuances of its light accompany my collages. It's a place of peace, silence, the slow breathing of trees, the fragile and sacred balance between humans and the world around us. Invisible links are forged here, reconnecting us with the simple, reassuring sensations of childhood and enabling us to rediscover what is essential.
Nature is at the heart of my work. It is not just a motif, but a force that connects us to something larger than ourselves, a presence that is both a source of inspiration and a space for contemplation.
My collages are fragments of memory, reflections of innocence. They carry with them the wonder of first glimpses, of childhood when every leaf, every light, every silence seemed to reveal a secret, as Akira Kurosawa evokes in his first Dreams.
Observing nature without invading it, loving it without trying to possess it... this is the question that runs through my work. Because the beauty of living things also lies in what eludes us, in the mystery beyond our perception.
A former art teacher, Annie Noël lives and works in Saint Cyprien. More information on Instagram @annienoel.art
