The Association Roussillonnaise de Gymnastique Harmonique, Artistique et Danse was founded in February 1971. Mme DESCOSSY, a dance teacher, set up the association to promote the learning of dance, which is all about beauty of movement, lightness and grace. Many young girls were charmed by this sport, which combines the use of apparatus (ribbons, balls, hoops, clubs and ropes), balance and lightness. The club then entered competitions organised by the French Gymnastics Federation.
