Every year in April, the Pyrénées-Orientales department celebrates Sant Jordi on 23 April, an emblematic Catalan festival where people give each other a book and a rose.
Throughout the month, the Médiathèque départementale Claude Simon and the region's media libraries offer a programme of free cultural events for all ages.

> 3pm: The Médiathèque in Passa organises an intergenerational workshop with Lola Barbaro to make bouquets.

> 10am: Bilingual readings (3-8 years)
> 10.45am: Special Sant Jordi creative workshops (3-8 years).
Friday 24 April /Divendres 24 d'abril
> 4pm: Ciné-Goûter (3-6 years)
> 5.30pm: Traditional dances and songs Els Dansaires Catalans de Tuir, in partnership with the Foment Sardaniste de l'Aspre and the Chœur de l'Aspre, will be performing dances and songs to celebrate Sant Jordi.
Saturday 25 April / Dissabte 25 d'abril
> Morning in the streets of Thuir: "Llibres Viatgers de Sant Jordi" - Travelling books
Take part in our initiative: pick up a book, read it and pass it around!
It's a great way for stories to travel around the town of Thuir.
We hope to see many of you there to share in this wonderful celebration of Catalan literature and culture!
