CASTELNOU CASTLE

The history of the château vicomtal de Castelnou dates back to the 10th century and remains one of the most archaic examples of a medieval fortress in the Pyrénées-Orientales.

During your visit, you'll have the chance to discover our permanent and temporary exhibitions: armour, period costumes, painting and sculpture. From the top of the panoramic terrace, you'll have a breathtaking view of the entire Aspres valley. In the park, walk along the thousand-year-old ramparts of the Château de Castelnou along a botanical trail and discover many Mediterranean species!
