Calmeilles

As an Abandoned village on the side of the departmental road n°13, Calmeilles is a small medieval village in a green setting, under the kind gaze of the Canigou mountain and overhanging the Mediterranean sea.
All its charm lies in its squares, its steps, its sloping streets and the tangle of its old stone houses. The parish church of St Peter and St Felix dates from the 12th century. It has a single nave, vaulted ceiling and a semi-circular apse, according to a classical scheme of Romanesque art in Roussillon.
In the town there is an old chapel that also offers a magnificent view: Notre Dame Del Coll.
