Created in the 19th century, this traditional wine estate is located in the village of Banyuls Dels Aspres, it has been completely restructured since 1996. Around the buildings, the vineyard extends over about thirty hectares, in the Aspres, between sea and mountain on clay-limestone soils.
To complete your stay or your visit to Château Montana, we have set up in the barns of the Domaine adjoining the Château, a museum dedicated to the work of the vine and wine. This museum pays tribute to the men who, through the ages, knew how to innovate and adapt techniques for our greatest pleasure. A real journey through time, you can admire forgotten or rare objects for a low price. Over more than 200m2, two rooms can be visited, the first whose vocation concerns objects and tools, the second is a reconstruction of a post-war cellar.

DOMAIN OF NIDOLERES
At the south-east end of the Aspres, Martine and Pierre Escudié welcome you to their casot, nestled in the heart of a wine estate surrounded by pines, oaks and hackberries. They pursue their two passions, wine and cooking; he, heir to 8 generations of Catalan winegrowers, she, guarantor of a family cuisine that is part of the Catalan tradition. The cultivation of the vine is carried out in a traditional way and with the greatest respect for the land. The Escudié family, aware of climate change and our mandatory adaptation, has just inaugurated the first agrivoltaic power plant combining vines and solar electricity on the same surface. A world first. Anyone who knows the estate and especially its cuisine will tell you that the cuisine here smells of scrubland. If the romance should last forever, stay the night in the pretty guest rooms of the estate, they overlook the swimming pool, the sauna and the whirlpool.
The estate offers a free or guided visit, with tasting and sale on site.

DOMAIN VAQUER
Frédérique is an oenologist and… from Burgundy! The 15 hectares of the estate are located 200 meters above sea level, on balconies from which you can see the sea. The wines of Domaine Vaquer are produced exclusively on an AOC terroir of clay-siliceous slopes. The reds, whites and rosés come from the know-how of a family of passionate winegrowers. Fernand Vaquer, his father-in-law was one of the first winegrowers to bottle his wine at the end of the 1960s. A crazy idea at the time, because only sweet wines had this privilege, but which many followed later . “I want to vinify wines that resemble their terroir and that resemble me,” she comments. And she proves it when she describes the vinification of reds on finesse and elegance, the silky tannins, the more or less spicy aromas of Grenache.
